Dear Koala Supporter, As you know, koalas are facing imminent extinction in NSW, thanks to poor protection of their habitat. In 2020, the NSW Government held an Inquiry into Koala Populations and Habitat that made 42 recommendations. So far, the Government has supported only 11 of these, leaving most koala habitat across NSW unprotected. Meanwhile, the NSW Forestry Corporation continues to log koala habitat in our state forests, including areas that were severely burnt in the Black Summer Fires, and these actions are even costing the taxpayer.
