Snap action: Call for Metgasco licence cancellation taken to North Coast MP’s electorate offices
What: Community gathering outside Members of Parliament offices’ in the four Northern Rivers state electorates, delivering a letter from the community calling for the cancellation of Metgasco’s gas licence at Bentley.
When: 12 noon, Tuesday 24 June 2014
Who: The community, including protectors who were involved in the Bentley Blockade.
Where: The four electorate offices for Clarence, Lismore, Tweed and Ballina.

Why: To call for the cancellation of Metgasco’s exploration licence over Bentley and surrounds which was recently suspended based on inadequate community consultation. A decision on this suspension is expected from the Office of Coal Seam Gas on Wednesday 25 June 2014, and a delegation of landholders will be in Sydney to meet with the Premier and Minister for Resources in order to call for the outright cancellation of the licence.
